GETTING TO THE HEART OF HEALING
Do you struggle with feelings of jealousy and possessiveness? Do you hold to any past betrayals or rejections from others?
Get ready for a deeply healing session, where you let go of a hurt, move stagnant energy and open to unconditional love for yourself and others!
The heart chakra’s true purpose is to help us experience the joy of loving and receiving love. Chakradance uses soft, gentle and peaceful music with an uplifting and expansive quality. We dance the heart to the vibrating color of green. Through the ease of motion and sounds that move the body, mind, and spirit spontaneously, we can enter the process of healing the heart by re- discovering self-love.
The element associated with the heart chakra is air. Connecting to the lightness of air through the breath can gently open the heart. In Chakradance, the dance begins with long, slow, deep breaths. The rhythm of the breath, combined with the pulse of the heart, begins to lift us up into dance. Becoming weightless, free, open, and light, this dance of air expands the heart.
Going deeper into the heart, attachments that are causing imbalances in this chakra are explored. There may, for example, be a past action for which we can’t forgive ourselves; an old hurt from another; or a death that has yet to be grieved. In Chakradance, the experience is gently brought into the heart, and its energy moves through the body. As the body holds attachments on a cellular level, we can use the physical aspect of dance to begin the process of release. This dance of letting go leads us to the essence of ‘Anahata’, a heart that is unhurt.
Live Workshop, duration – 80 mins
Location: London, SE25 4DT
The session starts with a short meditation, followed by introduction to the theme. Then I will guide you into slow moving meditation leading to the main dance. Through the guided visualisations and music resonating with particular chakra, you will be immersed in a meditative state. You may find yourself on the memory lane or you could tap into unconsciousness, or touch on some repressed emotions, which need releasing, healing. We dance with our eyes closed, in a darkened room. Spontaneous movement. Shaking off stagnant energy, limiting beliefs, old wounds. After the dance we sit to draw mandala art. This creative exercise is a form of integration, expression of the energy you just danced. It doesn’t matter if you can’t draw – it’s what your mandala represents that is important. In the end there is always a bit of time for sharing and a closing meditation.
